Diablo 4 beta dates and preload times

Here you can preload and play the Diablo 4 betas to test all five classes in the first zone.

After many, many years of waiting, Diablo 4(opens in new tab) will finally be playable soon. The first of two Diablo 4 betas begins today, March 17th, followed by the second beta on March 24th. Diablo 4's Early Access and Open Beta periods will take place over two weekends, giving you the chance to try out each of the game's five classes and explore the original open-world territory.

The beta is limited to the Fractured Peaks, one of five regions that make up Diablo 4's open world. The prologue and first act of the game takes place in the snowy, mountainous zone and finally takes you to Kyovashad, the capital.

I played through Fractured Peaks during my preview of Diablo 4 (opens in new tab) last year and, wow, it's grim up there. Sanctuary snatched up Thanos at the end of Diablo 3 and very few humans remain. There are run down and abandoned settlements everywhere and tons of dungeons and side quests to complete. The game's major world bosses will also be available for powerful loot at times to be announced during the beta.

When does the Diablo 4 beta start?

The Diablo 4 beta for pre-orders of the game begins Friday, March 17 at 9:00 PM PT and ends on Monday, March 20 at 12:00 PM PT. For this beta, you can choose from three classes: barbarian, rogue, and wizard.

  • PDT: 9:00 am Mar 17 - 12:00 pm Mar 20
  • EDT: 12 p.m. March 17 - 3 p.m. March 20
  • GMT: Mar 17 4pm - Mar 20 7pm
  • CET: 17:00 March 17 - 20:00 March 20

Note that both betas take place during those magical two weeks of the year when North America and Europe are no longer synced to Daylight Saving Time, so you'll find that the hour conversions are a little different than usual.

Diablo 4's second open beta will be available to everyone. If you play the first beta, your progress will also carry over. The open beta begins on Friday, March 24 at 9:00 am PT and ends on Monday, March 27 at 12:00 pm PT. Barbarian, Rogue, and Sorcerer will be playable again, but it will also feature the Necromancer and the Druid.

  • PDT: 9:00 am March 24 - 12:00 pm March 27
